Maybe you could print copies of what yo have and send that to me?
I am certain it would stir up more memories.
Random Memories
1. Summer Sessions each year (mornings only)
2. Heilbronn-started a Stamp Collecting Club
3. Gym classes--in small "bull-pen" in old gym. Some top C.M.
athletes were student teachers.
4. In about 1934 the college was celebrating some anniversary on alumni
Field--we participated
5. The school bldg. burned in 1933/34 and my classes were held in basement
of Warriner Hall
6. 7th grade was on 2nd floor of Warriner Hall.
7. Athletic certificates were awarded to top athletes
8. Merle Theirs--excellent music teacher
9. Campbell (5th grade)--had lots of group poetry. We gave performances
for our parents.
10. Praeger (4th grade)--shared her travels and doll collection with
us. She was very strict--knuckle rapper.
11. Knight (7th grade)--excellent math teacher--strict--would belittle
you
12. Lighter (3rd grade)--strict. Many students frightened of
her. She later taught at the College.
13. Park Lantz was the Supt./Principal (?)--quiet and efficient man.
Fine fly fisherman with cottage on AuSable River.
14. Remember the state basketball tournament games held in old gym--they
had specially priced passes for us. We had 6-7 boys that would give
yells for certain teams from the balcony and the fans would send us up
candy bars.
15. In my time there was also an 8th grade, but I left after 7th.
16. Boy Scout Troop (#122)--met at College and had activities in "bull-pen"
17. On Saturday mornings the student teachers opened the bull-pen for
us to "shoot-baskets"
18. Remember my children, who attended there, enjoying the Friday morning
swim sessions in Finch pool and the week they spent at school camp (in
the Thumb, I believe)
19. Our kids benefitted from a Gloria Pulido who introduced Spanish
in different grades. Once she entered the room, no English was spoken.
20. When Rowe Hall was constructed, the Elementary School moved there
from present Smith Hall (believe it was the replacement for burned building).
